Overview
Korea-based skincare company JAYJUN is big on innovation. If there’s a secret, underwater cave growing Seaweed that can fill fine lines, JAYJUN researchers are packing up the scuba gear.
JAYJUN’s largest line to-date, Okra Phyto Mucin line, is no exception. As JAYJUN prepared to distribute this line in nearly 30 countries, my job was to communicate product innovation through internationally adaptive English copy for packaging and marketing materials.
Approach
As JAYJUN’s US Branch Marketing Coordinator, I worked with designers, coordinators and Korean-language copy writers at JAYJUN HQ to translate and adapt 30 product descriptions into English.
Starting with a database of all the product copy in Korean, I rough translated every sentence in an online program. After some clarifying conversation with bilingual staff at the US office, I developed new copy that accurately and colloquially described each products’ uses and capabilities.
Outcomes
The Jayjun Okra Phyto Mucin Product line (English) was sold to distributors across the US, Europe and Middle East, sustaining high reviews across products and meeting market performance goals across distribution channels.
